ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
It is the policy of A & J Scott Ltd to conduct all of its activities so as to ensure that consideration is given to the environmental implications of all actions within the Company both in the short and long term.
A & J Scott Ltd recognises that it has responsibilities to its Employees, Clients, Customers, Contractors, Suppliers, Society and the Environment.
In implementing this policy, A & J Scott Ltd hope to promote measures for the protection of the environment for all who may be affected directly or indirectly by their activities and actions.
In particular that:
- A & J Scott Ltd take natures contribution to our industry very seriously, which is why we only use timber from managed forests that operate programmers of replanting and renewal.
- Through membership of the Royal Forestry Society RFS, the Timber Growers Association TGA and certification to the Forest Stewardship Council FSC, we guarantee to our customers that our products and sawn timber are manufactured from home-grown softwood or hardwood which has been grown and harvested in accordance with their Environmental Case Policies.
- Communications with the public and other concerned parties are true and unambiguous, with no suppression of information on environmental issues.
- Potential risks of new projects, to employees, the public and the environment, are assessed in order that effective processes are designed and appropriate control measures can be implemented.
