AJS celebrates first cut in new mill!Posted: 19th December 2014
A&J Scott are celebrating a milestone in the installation of the company's new EWD bandmill at its Northumberland site. The new line will bring a much needed increase to the company's production capacity for railway sleepers, agricultural purlins and long length / heavy section timbers.
A week ahead of schedule, the mill has successfully run its first production tests and the company's MD, Robert Scott, is delighted with the results! Engineers are continuing to work on the mill in preparation for production ramping up in the new year.
Robert Scott said, "After all the hard work planning and building a significant investment in the company, it's a real pleasure to see timber rolling through the mill. We're very excited about getting it fully online in time for the anticipated rise in demand as we get into the new year towards early spring."
We'll bring you further updates as the engineers finish their work and the mill moves into production mode.
