Julia joins the family business!Posted: 11th August 2011
The latest recruit to join an expanding North East sawmill is hoping to continue the progression of the business started by her grandfather 50 years ago.
Julia Scott has joined A&J Scott Ltd, a leading independent homegrown sawmill supplying the fencing, garden products, DIY and pallet and packaging sectors nationwide. The company, based near Alnwick in Northumberland, prides itself on the quality of the sawn timber it produces and the service that continuing family ownership has provided to its customers.
Julia has recently joined the company as Sales Executive, and hopes to build strong relationships with longstanding and new customers as the business continues its recent expansion.
Over recent years the company has increased production capacity and output through investment in state of the art production facilities and planning systems. Earlier this year the company installed a new treatment plant, increasing its pressure treatment capacity, and has also launched a new website, providing information on product ranges, its timber sourcing, sawmill processes, environmental policies and company news updates.
Julia has recently returned from a spell travelling in Asia, Australia and New Zealand, and is now looking forward to learning the ropes from the company Chairman, her father Andrew Scott, and the Managing Director, brother Robert Scott, who took over the reins from his father last year. With longstanding Sales Director Ian Barfoot and the rest of the sales team, Julia is excited at the prospect of supporting the ongoing growth of the business.
