New appointment as company expandsPosted: 6th February 2012
One of the UK’s leading independent home grown sawmills is shaping up for further growth after reaching record output and sales during 2011.
Northumberland based A&J Scott supply sawn home grown timber to customers in the fencing and outdoor products sectors. During 2011 the company’s long term investments in increased production capacity helped it to achieve its best ever sales output.
Now the company plans further growth with a new management appointment, which sees Adrian Howden moving into a new role as Sales and Business Development Manager. Having been a Sales Executive for A&J Scott for the last 3½ years, Adrian, pictured, will now focus on researching and developing new growth areas for the business as it continues to focus on product quality and service.
Following last year’s record output and bolstered by a 50% increase in the company’s timber treatment capacity after installation of a new pressure treatment vessel, this appointment further demonstrates A&J Scott’s dynamic approach to expansion in the ever changing and competitive UK sawmilling industry.
Managing Director, Robert Scott, said, “We are delighted with our progress during 2011 and excited by the future prospects for the company. We are determined to position ourselves to anticipate market developments by strengthening our product range to further support our expanding customer base”.
