New tank comes online for new seasonPosted: 13th February 2013
A leading independent sawmill is gearing up for the new fencing season as a new treatment plant is brought online this month.
Northumberland based A&J Scott are now using the new tank, installed over the turn of the year, and representing a £100,000 investment in the development of the company’s fencing supply business. The addition of the tank’s weekly treatment capacity of 400m3 takes A&J Scott’s overall treating capacity in excess of 1,200m3 per week.
The company is delighted to maximise its treatment output, having invested in new production equipment in recent years as demand for its fencing products has grown. Customers across the UK take in the company’s range of fencing products, as well as landscaping sleepers and timber components used by manufacturing companies.
The new expansion follows A&J Scott’s recent adoption of the BASF Wolman preservative solution, and will see the company increase its capability to offer green and brown finish treated fencing. With over 100 years of experience in the preservation of wood, Wolman is one of the world’s leading timber treatment suppliers.
Managing Director, Robert Scott, said, “We are delighted to bring this new facility online at the same time as we adopt the premium preservative solution on the market. We’re now better placed than ever to offer high quality treated fencing products and build on the service levels we can offer to our valued customers in the coming spring and summer months.”
