Club on a roll with AJS support!

Posted: 8th September 2016

A&J Scott were pleased to join a community initiative in support of local village Eglingham Cricket Club.

Having acquired a new purpose built roller during the cricket season to improve maintenance of the pitch and wicket, the club were in need of a secure storage facility. A&J Scott teamed up with 2 local businesses to supply and erect a new wooden building adjoining the existing pavilion.

Using timber donated by A&J Scott, Northumberland Fencing Services and David Robinson Bespoke Joinery donated time jointly to complete the project, providing long term storage for the new equipment.

Gordon Robson, of Eglingham Cricket Club, said, "It was a major step forward for the club to acquire the new purpose built roller and thanks to the support of A&J Scott, Northumberland Fencing Services and David Robinson Bespoke Joinery, we can now store it safely in the timber building erected for it."

Andrew Scott, Chairman of A&J Scott, said, "We recognise the importance of the cricket club to the community around Eglingham village and are delighted to support the club when we get the opportunity".
