Congratulations to the team from A&J Scott who took on the Cancer Research UK golf challenge! 

The original team of 4 was reduced to 2 ahead of the event by injury and illness. The remaining pair, Lee Straughan and Keith Bell, took on 72 holes of Golf (4 Rounds), teeing off at 5am just before first light, and finished at 7pm, 2 hours ahead of the target finish time!

All in all, just under 14hrs hours of golf and 24 miles covered at Alnmouth Golf Club.

Installtion of the 4th treatment tank at A&J Scott’s main sawmill site at Wooperton in Northumberland is now nearing completion in readiness for the spring fencing season. 

The tank will increase the company’s treatmenty capacity at the site to over 2,000m3 per week, complementing recent increases in production output acheived through the company’s investments in new and improved production facilities over recent years.

With the tank in place and the building housing it completed, work is now ongoing with Lonza to configure the tank controls and commission the tank. Good timing as the site emerges from last week’s big freeze!

Work has started to install a 4th treatment tank at A&J Scott’s main sawmill site at Wooperton in Northumberland, as the company seeks to increase its offer of pressure treated (Tanalised) fencing products and railway sleepers. With foundations being prepared now, the new tank is due to arrive in October and plans are in place to have it fully operational in time for the new year. 

The tank will take treatment capacity at the site over 2000m3 per week, to complement increases in output acheived through the company’s investments in new and improved production facilities over recent years.

The company also runs a further pressure treatment plant at its manufacturing site in the Scottish borders, primarily used in the production of boxes for storage of potatoes and other vegetables.
